The Line of GenieClip™ RST Resilient Clips

This is the original GenieClip™ RST for decoupling walls and ceilings to increase STC, OITC, and IIC ratings. Testing for the GenieClip™ RST includes hundreds of independent lab and field tests along with dozens of UL rated assemblies. Unlike most every other clip manufacturer, more sound tests and UL assemblies for GenieClip™ are added almost every year. Installation involves fastening the GenieClip™ RST directly to the framing, pressure fitting the hat channel into the clip, and fastening layers of drywall or wood to the channel. The four foot span between GenieClips™ RST allows maximum flex in the channel with the remaining vibrations left to transfer through the resilient GenieClip™ RST. The soft rubber base of the GenieClip™ RST increases low frequency isolation performance significantly compared to other similar resilient clips. Maximum isolation is achieved using the GenieClip™ RST in the walls or ceilings of any project and combining a GenieClip™ with GenieMat™ RST significantly improves the impact isolation in floor/ceiling assemblies. There are many uses for this multipurpose L bracket GenieClip™. One common use for the GenieClip™ LB for our customers is to maintain resiliency in a ceiling when installing the QuietBox. Other uses for the GenieClip™ LB include decoupling top plate framing, soffits/bulkheads, independent ceiling joists, and blocks of wood between framing members. The blocks are used for supporting ceiling fans, handrails, plumbing, television mounts, cabinets, and other heavy items. View the GenieClip™ LB.

In old construction, basements, and commercial construction, uneven joists or plumbing beneath the joists is common. The GenieClip™ LB2 fastens to the side of the joist allowing up to four inches in extension from the bottom of the joist to the bottom of the channel that pressure fits into the GenieClip™ LB2. The installer will adjust the clip to create a level surface in the ceiling for proper drywall installation. This style of installation also allows conduit, plumbing, and electrical runs between the hat channel and joists. View the GenieClip™ LB2.

The original GenieClip™ RST suspends the drywall from the joists 1-5/8″ with standard installation. This is not a problem for most ceilings. However, many of our customers are decoupling ceilings with low clearance, most commonly basements and multifamily housing. The GenieClip™ LB3 resolves this issue by allowing installation to the side of the joists instead of the bottom of the joist. The clip can recess into the joist cavity by fastening to the side of the joist, which requires the furring hat channel to run parallel to the joists instead of perpendicular. This reduces the 1-5/8″ drop with standard installation to as little as 1/2″ drop with the GenieClip™ LB3. View the GenieClip™ LB3.

The installation of resilient clips for both walls and ceilings requires a clip on the end of each run within six inches of the adjacent framing. Backing is often not accessible for various reasons. The old way of fixing this problem was by installing new framing or blocking. The new GenieClip™ LB4 resolves this problem in a quicker and more cost effective way. For ceiling installation, the short side of the L bracket fastens to the wall top plate. For wall installation, the short side of the L bracket fastens to the adjacent wall framing or the stud nearest to the angle. View the GenieClip™ LB4.

The GenieClip™ C3 is used for installation directly to cold rolled channel, which is a common construction found in larger cities, generally commercial properties. The GenieClip™ C3 has a connection piece that allows the clip to attach directly to the cold rolled channel with the GenieClip™ C3 following the same layout as the standard GenieClip™ RST. From there, the channel and drywall installation is the same as any other GenieClip™ product. The use of the GenieClip™ C3 provides significant increase in STC and IIC compared to attaching furring hat channel or resilient channel directly to the cold rolled channel. An increase of over 10 points in both STC and IIC. View the GenieClip™ C3.

The GenieClip™ Mount is used to allow a larger area to attach heavy items to a wall, including, but not limited to: handrail, televisions, cabinets, heavy mirrors or other artwork.
